Testimonials

I am a department chair at a small college that promotes substantial civic engagement by its students in community-supported projects that benefit all involved partners. I have known Jennifer for nearly a decade and can attest to her exquisite organizational and leadership skills, and her vision for both sustainable agriculture and community development. Jennifer was the critical piece in a partnership we arranged in between my students and her organization – a partnership that helped my students gain practical experience while relating that experience closely to the academic goals of our curriculum. Jennifer’s innovative approach to community development and her open professional manner were fundamental to our success.

Since the inception of Methodist Services’ signature Heritage Farm Fare fundraiser, Jen and her team has distinguished themselves, consistently. Yes, they’re professional, creative, smart, hardworking, fun, versatile, excellent problem solvers. Equally important, Jen and her team is non-hierarchical, fair-minded, collaborative, community-oriented, and continues to raise the bar in all of their endeavors. How surprised we were, when decisions were weighty or event logistics occasionally became complex, Jen and her team brought clarity, ethics, expansive thinking, and humor into our decision-making. Whether Jen and her team is helping Methodist Services sustain working relationships with a new venue, engaging program participants, jointly cultivating new and tenured donors or board members, or generating compelling social media posts, they are some of the best people in the profession! We deeply appreciate the expertise and talent that Jen and her team has brought and will continue to bring to our collective work. What a truly distinctive group!

The Brattleboro Winter Farmers’ Market met Jen Brodsky and her team at a crucial point in our 12 year history. Our market was grappling with the complex decision of whether to move from a popular downtown location, and how to balance the needs of vendors, customers, and the community in that process. In the seven months we worked together, Jen and Noah guided and directed us to ask the right questions, opened us to new ways of thinking , and grounded our decision-making in a clear, practical, fiscally sound direction. Together we created a process where everyone felt heard, had input and reached a strong decision. Jen and her team does not fit the mold of traditional consultants. Jen and her team worked with us as full partners – always available and responsive, encouraging dialogue and feedback, building in extra time and site visits as they saw the need. They are creative and lively, welcoming follow up and questions even after the final report. They really did go the distance with us and beyond to ensure our success. From the outset, Jen saw beyond the basic question to the bigger one. She envisioned this as an opportunity to revitalize our market and re-engage our vendors to create a sense of shared ownership. Beyond the consummate professionalism, mind-blowing range of skills, and energy brought to our little project, Jen’s love for and familiarity with Vermont, her experience with starting a winter market, and her passion for providing winter access to fresh produce brought a significant personal dimension to the project. They gave us a great tool for decision-making that we will continue to use. It’s hard to name all the talents Jen and her team brought to bear on our project but here are a few that we especially valued:

  • Quick to pick up on the nuances of situations and anticipate our thinking

  • A flexible style that embraces the evolving nature of a project; nimble in adjusting to new information and seeing alternatives

  • Terrific ability to communicate effectively to potential landlords, steering committees, and vendors both individually and en masse

  • Professional delivery of an effective, lively, information-packed presentation to vendors that engaged and stimulated new thinking and action

In short, Jen and her team made everything seem possible without shying away from the difficult. Working with Jen and her team you know you are in good hands and that you have a partner who cares about your project as much as you do. You will definitely get more than your money’s worth and you will enjoy the process!
